MHA announced new guidelines for the phased reopening of areas outside containment zones.

After  two months long CoronaVirus-induced Lockdown, the country on Monday entered the first phase of three-phase unlock plan. The lockdown, however, will continue in containment zone for one more month, till June 30.The fourth phase of lockdown came to an end on Sunday.Here is what's allowed to open outside the containment zones

Things and Places which will open from first week of June.


Phase 1:  Religious places and places of worship for public; hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services; and shopping malls; will be permitted to open from June 8, 2020. 

Phase 2: Schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institutions etc will be opened after consultations with the states and UTs. Based on the feedback with all the stakeholders, including parents, a decision in this regard will be taken in July. 

Phase 3:  Resumption of international flights, metro services, cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks etc will be decided based on assessment of the situation.

· Social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions and other large functions will be re-started only after assessment of the situation. 

· Inter-state and intra-state movement of people and goods will be permitted from June 1 without permission or e-pass. However, the states will be empowered to regulate movement after prior publicity of information and the procedures to be followed. 

New Rules

· Inter state movement of person and good allowed. 
· Movement of individual prohibited between 9pm-5am throughout the country, except for essential activities.
· Spitting on roads, consuming tobacco, gutka, and pan is prohibited. 
· Wearing of face mask remains mandatory.
· Work from home should be followed as far as possible.
